35Chapter 3 - Setupwww.adcom.com GFR-700HD Owner’s ManualPicture ControlsThe HD Scaler includes basic and advanced controlsto help you achieve optimal picture quality for eachinput source.To access the Picture Controls menu:1 Press the Main button on the remote control.2 Press the Setup button.3 Use the / buttons to select INPUT CONFIG,then press the Select button.4 Use the / buttons to select HD SCALER, thenpress the Select button.5 Use the / buttons to select PICTURE CON-TROLS, then press the Select button.6 Use the / buttons to choose from the follow-ing menu items:BASIC CONTROLSProvides basic tools to adjust the picture for eachinput source. Use the / buttons to choose:• Contrast - Adjusts the difference in brightnessbetween the lightest and darkest areas of thepicture. Choose from 0-20 (default = 10).• Brightness - Adjusts the overall brightness of thepicture. Choose from 0-100 (default = 50).• Color - Adjusts the color intensity and satura-tion of the picture. Choose from 0-128 (default =64).• Tint - Adjusts red and green levels to accuratelyreproduce skin tones. Choose from 0-100 (de-fault = 50).• ACE (Adaptive Color Enhancement) - Enhancesan image by improving its contrast. Choose fromHigh, Mid, Low, or Off (default).• Edge - Adjusts edge enhancement, ranging fromsoft to crisp picture detail. Choose from High,Mid, Low, or Off (default).ADVANCED CONTROLSProvides advanced tools to fine-tune the picture foreach input source. Use the / buttons to choose:• Noise Filter - Provides a variety of specialized fil-ters to reduce picture noise (see table at right).• Deinterlace Mode - Digitally enhances the pic-ture quality of interlaced source material (seetable at right).• Film Mode - Automatically detects if source ma-terial was originally shot on film and transferredto video, e.g. DVDs, VHS tapes, and many TVprograms.
