This informationprovides a useful reference during the installation of the product.Front PanelImportant!Although the AXIS 2110 is intended for both indoor and outdoor use, it is important to note that the charged cou-pled device (CCD) in the camera can become permanently damaged if it is exposed to too much direct sunlight, orhalogen light. It is therefore important that the Adjustment Ring is not set fully open when installing the camera inbright light conditions. The Axis warranty does not cover CCD damage caused by prolonged exposure to strong light.Control ButtonLocated to the left ofthe lens assembly, thisbutton is recessedwithin the product cas-ing. Using a suitablypointed object, pressthis button to restorethe factory default set-tings as described inReinstating the FactoryDefault Settings, onpage 25; or enable theFocus Assistant, asdescribed in Lenses andFocusing, on page 36.Lens AssemblyManual irisTele/wide zoomlens with rotationalfocus control.The supplied lens isremovable and canbe replaced withany standard C/CSlens.Serial NumberLocated on the underside label of theAXIS 2110, the serial number is identicalto the Ethernet address of the unit.Status IndicatorUsed in conjunction with the Focus Assistant, this multi-colored indicator can be con-figured for use as a local focusing aid (for further details please see page 36). Undernormal conditions however, this indicator shows the operational status of the camera,as described below:• green - the indicator flashes briefly and momentarily displays orange during thestart-up and self-test routines. The indicator then displays green to indicate ahealthy unit status.• red - the indicator will display red only if a problem with the AXIS 2110 hasoccurred. Refer to Appendix B - Troubleshooting.Note: The Status indicator also displays orange when re-setting to the factory defaultsettings, as described on page 25. The Status Indicator can also be made to flash when-ever images are displayed in a browser. See the on-line help for more information.
