User’s Manual Configuring the Document Server 83Note:Configuring Using a Text Editor and FTPThe Document Server configuration file includes all the systemparameter settings regarding network protocols, profiles, paper sizesand destinations.As an alternative to Web-based configuration, you can edit theconfiguration file directly using a text editor and upload the file to theDocument Server using FTP.Note:Follow these instructions to edit the configuration file using FTP:Caution1. In a DOS or UNIX window, type ftp , where address> is the name or IP address of your Document Server.2. Login using the user id root and the password pass.Note:3. Type get config.ini to download the configuration file to your currentdirectory.PDF rotation and TIFF rotation are automatic for scanners with an RADF (ReversingAutomatic Document Feeder). However, the image viewer must also support rotatedimages. See the documentation supplied with your image viewer for more information.To access the Document Server configuration file, you must first set the IP address asdescribed in “Assigning an IP Address ”on page 24.Windows 95 has a directory called ‘config’ that contains important system files. It is important tochange to another directory using the cd command before modifying your Document Serverconfiguration file from within a windows 95 environment.
