MN715J Programming and Operation 4-13Parameter Block Definitions Level 1PRESET SPEEDSPreset Speeds #1 ñ #7 Allows selection of 7 predefined motor operating speeds. Eachspeed may be selected using external switches connected to the control terminal strip(J4). For motor operation, a motor direction command must be given along with a presetspeed command (at J4).ACCEL/DECEL RATEAccel Time #1,2 Accel time is the number of seconds required for the control toincrease the output frequency from the ìMin Output Frequencyî to the frequencyspecified in the ìMax Output Frequencyî parameter in the Level 2 Output Limitsblock.Decel Time #1,2 Decel time is the number of seconds required for the control todecrease the output frequency from the frequency specified in the ìMax Outputfrequencyî parameter to the ìMin Output Frequencyî.S-Curve #1,2 S-Curve is a percentage of the total Accel or Decel time. It isnon-linear to provides smooth starts and stops. Figure 4-2 illustrates how motoracceleration and deceleration is changed using a 40% S-Curve. 0% representsno ìSî and 100% represents full ìSî with no linear segment.Figure 4-2 40% S-Curve ExampleOutput FrequencyAccel Time0 MaxAccel S-Curves20%20%0%Curve40%CurveOutput FrequencyDecel Time0 MaxDecel S-Curves20%20%0%Curve40%CurveExample: Maximum Output frequency =100 Hz; Preset frequency = 50 Hz,Accel Time=10 Sec. In this example, control output frequency will be 50Hz, 5seconds after commanded from minimum output frequency.Note: Accel #1, Decel #1 and S-Curve #1 are associated together. Likewise, Accel#2, Decel #2 and S-Curve #2 are associated together. These associationscan be used to control any preset speed or external speed command (Pot).Note: Since the motor design uses rotor slip to produce torque, the motor speed willnot necessarily increase/decrease in a linear manner with motor frequency.Note: If faults (motor trips) occur during rapid Accel or Decel, selecting an S-curvemay eliminate the faults without affecting the overall ramp time. Someadjustment of Accel, Decel and S-Curve settings may be necessary tooptimize your application.JOG SETTINGSJog Speed Jog Speed is the commanded frequency used during jog. Jog speed canbe initiated from the keypad or terminal strip. At the keypad, first press the JOGkey then either the FWD or REV key.Jog Accel Time is the Accel Time used during jog.Jog Decel Time is the Decel Time used during jog.Jog S-Curve is the S-Curve used during jog.
