Redundancy VS BackupCyberSWITCH CSX400 and CSX400-DC Installation Guide2-19Table 2-1, below, shows the supported configurations at the initial release of the backup feature.Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)The CSX400 provides SNMP agent support for the following: standard and Enterprise SpecificManagement Information Bases (MIBs), and support for standard and Enterprise Specific SNMPTraps. SNMP is also used internally for configuration of the CSX400. The active SNMP agentwithin the CSX400 accepts SNMP requests for status, statistics and configuration updates.Communication with the SNMP agent occurs over the LAN or WAN connection. Anymanagement application using SNMP over UDP/IP has access to the local SNMP agent.SNMP MIB SupportSNMP MIBs are databases of objects used for managing and determining the status andconfiguration of an SNMP compliant device. The following SNMP MIBs are supported by the CSX400:• MIB II RFC1213• RMON MIB RFC1271• DS1 and E1 MIB RFC1406 (Digital Signal Level 1 [T1/E1 interface types])• IETF Bridge MIB RFC1493• IP Forwarding MIB RFC1354• PPP LCP MIB RFC1471 (Point-to-Point Protocol, Link Control Protocol)• PPP IPCP MIB RFC1473 (IP Control Protocol)Table 2-1 Backup Channel ModelPrimary Interface Backup Interface SupportedPPP (WPIM-T1, WPIM-E1, WPIM-DDS,& WPIM-SY)PPP (WPIM-SY to Sync Modem) YESPPP (WPIM-T1, WPIM-E1, WPIM-DDS,& WPIM-SY)ISDN BRI (WPIM-S/T) YESFrame Relay (WPIM-T1, WPIM-E1,WPIM-DDS, & WPIM-SY)PPP (WPIM-SY to Sync Modem) YESFrame Relay (WPIM-T1, WPIM-E1,WPIM-DDS, & WPIM-SY)ISDN BRI (WPIM-S/T) YESOther Primary interface types will be added in subsequent updates.
