S T SWarnings and MessagesIf a problem is sensed in one ofyour vehicle’s systems, a warningor message will appear on theDIC display.Check Engine or other WarningLights with OnStar® (if equipped)If your CHECK ENGINE light, or anyother warning message appears,you can push the blue OnStarbutton and speak to a live advisor.OnStar Advisors can access certaindiagnostic information and can tellyou how serious the problem is,what you should do about it, or cancontract a dealer or Roadside servicefor you. Refer to the OnStar OwnerGuide for details.See Section 3 of your Owner Manualfor detailed DIC system information.HEAD-UP DISPLAY (if equipped)The Head-Up Display (HUD) projectssome important driver informationfrom the instrument panel clusteronto the windshield, reducing theneed to look away from the road.The information appears as an imagetoward the front of the vehicle. TheHUD displays the speedometer,turn signal indicators, high-beamheadlamps indicator symbol,adaptive cruise control features/indicators, check gages icon, andsome radio and navigation features.The HUD controls are located on theleft side of the instrument panel.(Up/Down Adjustment):Press this button (A) to adjust theup/down position of the HUDimage on the windshield. (It cannotbe adjusted side-to-side.) Press theup arrow to move the HUD imageup and the down arrow to move theHUD image down.Brightness: Use this knob (B) toadjust the brightness of the HUDimage as well as the instrumentcluster and interior lighting. Pressand release the knob so that it popsout, and then turn the knob toincrease or decrease the brightnessof the instrument cluster andinterior lighting. Pull out the knobto the second detent in order toincrease or decrease the brightnessof the HUD image.Off: With the knob (B) pulled out tothe second detent, turn it all the wayto the left to turn off the HUD image.The Speed Alert feature can be setto display an alert when the vehiclespeed exceeds the posted orrecommended set speed. This featureis turned on or off, and the speed isset, through the Driver InformationCenter (DIC). The speedometer inthe HUD will display yellow or redwhen a speed alert is present.Note: Your vehicle’s warnings and messagesprovide critical information that canprevent damage to your vehicle.
