The item beingcarried could be violently torn off,and this could cause a collision,and damage the vehicle. Nevercarry something longer or widerthan the roof rack on top of thevehicle unless using a GMCertified accessory carrier.For vehicles with a roof rack, therack can be used to load items.For roof racks that do not havecrossrails included, GM Certifiedcrossrails can be purchased asan accessory. See your dealerfor additional information.For vehicles with crossrails, theycan be moved back and forth tohelp secure cargo. To adjust them,turn the knob located at each endof the crossrail counterclockwiseuntil the crossrail can move freely.To secure the crossrail, turn theknob located at each end of thecrossrail clockwise until tightened.Tie the load to the siderails orsiderail supports.Notice: Loading cargo on theroof rack that weighs more than91 kg (200 lbs) or hangs over therear or sides of the vehicle maydamage the vehicle. Load cargoso that it rests evenly betweenthe crossrails, making sure tofasten cargo securely.To prevent damage or loss ofcargo when driving, check tomake sure crossrails and cargoare securely fastened. Loadingcargo on the roof rack will make thevehicle’s center of gravity higher.
