But itwill perform better in the long runif you follow these guidelines:. Keep the vehicle speed at88 km/h (55 mph) or less forthe first 805 km (500 miles).. Do not drive at any oneconstant speed, fast or slow,for the first 805 km(500 miles). Do not makefull-throttle starts. Avoiddownshifting to brake orslow the vehicle.. Avoid making hard stopsfor the first 322 km(200 miles) or so. Duringthis time the new brakelinings are not yet broken in.Hard stops with new liningscan mean premature wearand earlier replacement.Follow this breaking-inguideline every time you getnew brake linings.. Do not tow a trailer duringbreak-in. See Trailer Towingon page 9‑61 for the trailertowing capabilities of thevehicle and moreinformation.Following break‐in, engine speedand load can be graduallyincreased.Adjustable Throttle andBrake PedalThe vehicle has adjustable throttleand brake pedals that allow you tochange their positions.The feature will not operate whenthe vehicle is in R (Reverse) orwhile using the cruise control.The switch used to adjust thepedals is located on the centerconsole below the climate controlsystem.Press the right and left arrows tomove the pedals either closer orfurther from your body.Before you start driving, fully pressthe brake pedal to confirm theadjustment is right for you.
