When the headlamps areturned on while the vehicle is off,the headlamps will stay on for10 minutes before automaticallyturning off to prevent the batteryfrom being drained. Turn theexterior lamp control to off and thenback to the on position to make theheadlamps stay on for an additional10 minutes.Exterior Lamps OffReminderIf a door is open, a reminder chimesounds when the headlamps orparking lamps are manually turnedon and the key is out of the ignition.To turn off the chime, turn theexterior lamp control to off or AUTOand then back on, or close andre-open the door. In the AUTOmode, the headlamps turn off oncethe ignition is in LOCK/OFF orremains on until the headlamp delayends (if enabled in the DIC). See“Exit Lighting” under VehiclePersonalisation on page 5-36.Headlamp Main/Dipped-Beam Changer5 3 (Headlamp Main/DippedBeam Changer): To change theheadlamps from dipped to mainbeam, push the indicator levertoward the instrument panel. Toreturn to dipped beam headlamps,pull the lever toward you. Thenrelease it.When the main beams are on, thisindicator light on the instrumentcluster will also be on.Flash-to-PassThis feature lets you use themain-beam headlamps to signal adriver in front of you that you wantto pass. It works even if theheadlamps are in the automaticposition.To use it, pull the indicator stalktoward you, then release it.If the headlamps are in theautomatic position or on dippedbeam, the main-beam headlampswill turn on. They will stay on aslong as you hold the stalk towardyou. The main-beam indicator onthe instrument cluster will come on.Release the stalk to return to normaloperation.The dipped-beam headlamps mustbe on for the flash-to-pass featureto work.
