1.7 ANTENNAPrimary cellular antenna connections are SMA female connectors and must be used with antenna with SMA maleconnectors. When using a direct mount or rubber duck antenna, choose the antenna specific to your bandrequirements. Mounting options and cable lengths are user’s choice and application specific. The diversity antenna connector, labeled AUX on fixed location models and DIV on mobile models, can be used for aDiversity antenna. The diversity port supports Cellular (850 MHz) and PCS (1900 MHz) bands. Connect a dual bandcellular antenna to this port to implement RX diversity on the unit and increase receive sensitivity on the cellularnetwork. For mobile models equipped with WiFi, the antenna connector labeled AUX is an RP-SMA female connector for 2.4 GHzWiFi that facilitates 802.11 b and 802.11 g wireless networks.1.8 POWER CABLE PINOUTDepending on the version (fixed or mobile) of Vanguard 3000 ordered, different power cables are provided. The mobileversion ships with a 22-foot power cable that requires a fuse (included). The fixed version ships with a 6 foot DC three-wire power cable that does not contain a fuse. An AC power adapter is available as an optional accessory. Regardless ofthe cable length, the pinout is the same and only the color of the ground wire differs (blue in the mobile wire harness, and black in the fixed). When installed for a fixed application or if the Ignition-sense line is not required in a mobile application, the ignitionsense line (white wire) should be shorted to VIN / VBattery (red wire).Figure 9 Wiring for ignition sense Table 7 Power Cable pin-out, signal, and wire colorsPin Signal Color Mobile Color Fixed1 VIN / VBatt = 9 to 28 VDC Red Red2 Ground Blue Black3 Ignition Sense White White4 No Connect NA NAThe fuse provided inside the fuse-holder that is part of the wiring for mobile applications is a 2 Amp fast-acting fuse(EF2AL250VP).Vanguard 3000 Series Multicarrier Cellular Data Modem & IP Router PN 001-7300-100 Rev.
