• Image files can be very large and memory intensive. If the CamRanger app is havingstability issues, closing other apps running in the background or even power cycling theiOS device will improve performance.Commands• Depending on the camera and the mode, capture can fail if the camera fails to acquirefocus.• Intervalometer, Bulb, and Advanced BrackeLng sequence commands are stored on theCamRanger hardware such that the iOS device does not need to remain on andconnected. However, this also means that any changes or acLons with the iOS deviceduring one of those advanced operaLons could result in failure or unexpectedoutcomes.• When an operaLon, command, or sejng is not available or not working the issue isofen related to the camera setup. For example:o Toggling to AF is disabled if the camera lens switch is set to MF.o Live view will fail on Canon cameras if Live View ShooLng is disabled in thecamera’s menu.o Capture fails because the removable media on the camera is full.• For Canon cameras, the Live View focus mode within the camera’s menu must be set to“Live View”.• AdjusLng or viewing the number of brackeLng shots is not currently supported. Thedisplay assumes three shots. However, if the number of shots is actually 2, 5, 7, 9, etc.the bracket amount is sLll correct it will just incorrectly display 3 shots.• Some features are simply not supported by some cameras. For example conLnuouscapture mode is not supported on the Canon 40D and most Nikons do not support bulbshots. See the camera capability matrix at www.CamRanger.com for more detailedinformaLon.• If touch focusing does not work on a Canon camera, the likely cause is that the rear AFbuOon has been changed to some other funcLon and must be reset back to its defaultAF behavior.Images• The thumbnails are not downloaded unLl afer the image has been recorded to thecamera’s card. On most cameras this is relaLvely quick. However, depending on thecamera, speed of removable media, and number of shots taken in succession, there canbe a lag.• The maximum sized image that can be viewed is dependent on the iOS hardware. Forexample, the 1st GeneraLon iPad can only handle large RAW or JPG’s from slightly oldercameras, but can handle medium sized images from most current cameras. The 3rdGeneraLon iPad supports all image sizes for all supported cameras. Regardless, all imageformats and sizes can be downloaded to the user’s iOS Photo library through the cardcontents view.• CamRanger can be used to view and download pictures captured through other means. So a separate photographer could be capturing images, or a RF or light trigger couldcapture images and the CamRanger app would automaLcally download the thumbnails.© CamRanger – Patent Pending
