You have been using the cartridge for using the cartridge for overone year. Your printed output is not crisp and clear, or there are gaps in thecharacters (missing dots). Your output has no ink on it.If your print quality is not crisp and clear, see Chapter 7,Troubleshooting, for possible solutions. If the problem seems to be yourink cartridge, be sure to clean the print head before determining that youneed to replace the cartridge, be sure to clean the print head beforedetermining that you need to replace the cartridge. If you clean the printhead several times and your print quality does not improve, you need toreplace the cartridge. (The print head cleaning procedure is described inChapter 2, Setting Up the Printer, and later in this chapter.)Installing the Ink CartridgeNOTE: Print head cleaning is not a routine maintenance procedure.Only clean the print head if your print quality is inadequate.CAUTION: The Bubble Jet Printer BJ-200e was designed to be usedexclusively with Canon ink cartridges. Other inks may damage the printhead capping and cleaning devices in the printer. If you have problemsthat are caused by using third-party ink or ink cartridges, your warrantywill be void.CAUTION: Canon makes numerous ink cartridges; the BC-02 isdesigned specifically for the Bubble Jet Printer BJ-200e and is the onlyone you should use. Using the BC-01 cartridge will result in decreasedprint quality.
