Select your print mode as follows:ß Use HQ mode for most of your printing needs. The printerautomatically prints in HQ mode unless you change the modewith the PRINT MODE button.ß Use the smoothing mode when you are printing enlargedcharacters with an MS-DOS application. When Smoothing isenabled, the printer refines your output by polishing away thejagged edges and ragged stair-stepping curves of thecharacters. This results in sharp and crisp print at 720 x 360dpi. The print speed is slower than HQ mode.ß Use the HS mode when you are printing draft documents.Your document will print faster but the print density will beless than in HQ mode. HS mode uses half the amount of ink asHQ mode.Selecting reduction mode cancel Smoothing mode (if set).Using the Reduction ModesThe printer supports two reduction modes for printingspreadsheets and other wide documents on regular paper. Inreduction mode, the printer reduces the out put to two-thirds or one-half of its full size.Two-thirds Reduction ModeIn two-thirds reduction mode, the printer automatically setsthe print dimensions as follows:Top Margin: 0.32-inchLeft margin: 0.35-inchPrint width (max): 7.8 inches
