3 Setting the White BalanceN122You can set the white balance’s color temperature numerically. This isfor advanced users.1 Select [White balance]. Under the [z3] tab, select [Whitebalance], then press <0>.2 Set the color temperature. Select [P]. Turn the <6> dial to set the colortemperature, then press <0>. The color temperature can be set from approx.2500 K to 10000 K in 100 K increments.P Setting the Color Temperature If the exposure obtained in step 1 differs greatly from the standardexposure, a correct white balance may not be obtained. In step 3, the following images cannot be selected: images capturedwhile the Picture Style was set to [Monochrome], multiple-exposureimages, and images shot with another camera. Instead of a white object, an 18% gray card (commercially available) canproduce a more accurate white balance. The personal white balance registered with the provided software will beregistered under [O]. If you execute step 3, the data for the registeredpersonal white balance will be erased. When setting the color temperature for an artificial light source, set whitebalance correction (magenta or green) as necessary. If you set [P] to the reading taken with a commercially-available colortemperature meter, take test shots and adjust the setting to compensatefor the difference between the color temperature meter’s reading and thecamera’s color temperature reading.
