9Before Using the MachineTurning the Machine On and OffTurn on the machine before printing. Turning on the Machine1 Press the ON button to turn on the machine.The Power lamp flashes and then remains litgreen.2 If you are using the machine connected to acomputer, turn on your computer. Turning off the Machine1 To turn off the machine, press the ON button.When the Power lamp stops flashing, the machineis turned off.This takes a few seconds or as long as around 30seconds.NoteIf preparatory operations below are not complete, follow your setup sheet to complete them.z The FINE Cartridges are installed properly.If you are using the machine connected to a computer, confirm also the following.z The machine is connected to your computer.z The MP Drivers are installed.ImportantIf the Alarm lamp lights up or flashes orange and anerror code is displayed on the LED, see “An ErrorCode Is Displayed on the LED” on page 44.ImportantWhen Turning Off the MachineFollow the procedure below to turn off the machine.1. Confirm that the Power lamp on themachine has gone out.2. Unplug the power plug from the wall outlet orswitch off the power outlet strip.When you press the ON button to turn off the machine,the machine automatically puts a protective cap on thePrint Head to prevent the ink from drying. If youremove the power plug or switch off the power outletstrip before the Power lamp goes out, this capping willnot be done properly, causing the Print Head to dryand clog.
