65More Advanced Scanning Methods (Batch Separation)Batch Separation (Insert blank page)Recognizes blank pages as batch separators and performs batchseparation (automatic file separation) when documents containingblank pages are scanned.On the [Others] tab of the ISIS driver properties, select [Blank Page]from the Batch Separation dropdown list.IMPORTANT• When [Simplex] is selected in [Scanning Side], blank pages on thescanned side will be recognized as separators. When [Duplex],[Skip blank page], or [Folio] is selected in [Scanning Side],document pages will be recognized as separators when both sidesof a page are blank.• Images of pages recog nized as separators will not be saved.Batch separation using patch codesheetsDR-C240 supports batch separation (automatic file separation)functions by using patchcodes.By tucking patchcode sheets supplied with this scanner into adocument and scanning it, the scanner can automatically separatefiles by images of documents containing patchcode sheets (ordocuments after the patchcode sheet).Hint• This function can be used with the supplied CapturePerfectsoftware. Other applications that support this function include ISIS-compatible applications. It is not supported by TWAIN-compatibleapplications.• Patchodes are included with this product in PDF format.Applications that can read PDF files such as the suppliedCapturePerfect are required to use this function.The following patchcodes are installed together with the scannerdriver as PDF files.The following operations are performed when using patchcodes forscanning.Type ofPatchcode Pattern DescriptionPATCH (FILE A)Files are separated fromthe page after the pageprinted with this patchcode.You specify in theapplication whether toinclude the page printedwith the patchcode in thescanned image.PATCH II (FILE B)Files are separated fromthe page printed with thispatchcode. The page withthe printed patchcode isalways included in thescanned image.
