Department ID Management 6-76System Manager SettingsIMPORTANT• If SDL or SSO is set as the login service, Department ID Management is performed onthe Department ID that shares the same user name and password as the one registeredfor MEAP User Authentication.• If you are using SSO and set Department ID Management to 'On', you may not be able tolog on. In this case, change the login service to Default Authentication, and then setDepartment ID Management to 'Off'. For instructions on setting a login service, seeChapter 4, "MEAP System Management," in the MEAP SMS Administrator Guide.• If the optional Card Reader-C1 is attached, and SDL or Default Authentication is set asthe login service, Department ID Management is activated. (See "Card Reader-C1," onp. 3-38.)• Optional imageWARE Accounting Manager software is necessary to use the DomainAuthentication system of SSO (including when performing domain authentication with the'Domain Authentication + Local Device Authentication' system) and Department IDManagement simultaneously. If imageWARE Accounting Manager is not installed, andSSO is set as the login service, make sure that Department ID Management is set to'Off'. Otherwise, you will not be able to log on.• The user information registered for SDL or the Local Device Authentication system ofSSO, and the registered Department ID and password set for Department IDManagement must match. If the registered Department ID and password have beenchanged because information was updated or changed by the Device InformationDelivery Settings mode, make sure that you change/update the user informationregistered for SDL or the Local Device Authentication system of SSO accordingly. Forinstructions on registering SDL or SSO user information, see the MEAP SMSAdministrator Guide.• If SDL or SSO is set as the login service, the Limit Functions mode will not be available.NOTE• The maximum number of digits that you can store for the Department ID and password isseven. If you enter fewer than seven digits for either setting, the machine stores themwith leading zeros.- Example: If <321> is entered, <0000321> is stored.• Other than using Department ID Management, this machine enables you to manage userinformation using SDL or SSO.
