The porcelain isfragile and can crack or break.IMPORTANT: The igniters may not spark or workproperly if the burner parts or the igniters them-selves are not clean and dry.After disassembling the burners, check for any dirtor grime deposited on the individual parts, includingthe igniters.Use a firm toothbrush to clean completely1.around the igniter, including all of the metaltop and porcelain base. Use care while cleaningbecause the porcelain is fragile and can crack orbreak. Do not use water to clean the igniters. Ifnecessary, use a small amount of rubbing alco-hol to help dissolve grime.Examine the burner rings. Remove anything2.stuck in the holes with a straightened paperclip, wire or needle. Be careful not to scratch ordamage the ring and head. Do not distort theshape of the burner ring holes.Care and CleaningClean all of the burner parts, including the3.burner bases, with window cleaner or rubbingalcohol. Use a cleaning brush with plastic bristlesor a firm toothbrush. When done, rinse the partswell with clean water. Dry all the parts thor-oughly before re-assembling them.Reassemble the cooktop according to the burner4.and grate assembly instructions on page 5.Test the burners after reassembling them. Ifthe flame is uneven, be sure that all the burnerparts are properly positioned, then check for anyremaining dirt or grime on the burner parts origniter. If erratic sparking (clicking) is still pres-ent, make sure the igniter is completely dry. Ifthe unit still exhibits problems after drying, callyour local Dacor Authorized Service Agent.Grates, Spill Trays and WOK RingCAUTIONDo not clean the cooktop grates, burner parts or WOKring in a dishwasher. They will be damaged.The grates, the spill tray and optional WOK ring arecoated with a porcelain finish.For everyday cleaning, use a soft cloth or non-•abrasive pad with warm soapy water to clean allof the porcelain parts.If necessary, tough stains may be removed by•applying full-strength sprays such as SimpleGreen™, Ajax™ All-Purpose Cleaner or Formula409™. To minimize wear, use the mildest cleanerneeded to get the surface clean.For extremely stubborn stains, you may use a•mildly abrasive cleaner or applicator, such asSoft Scrub™, Bon Ami™, S.O.S.® pads or othersoap-filled steel woolpads. Use these cleanerswith extreme care andonly on occasion. Exten-sive use of these typesof abrasives will eventu-ally damage the porce-lain enamel.Stainless Steel SurfacesCAUTIONAlways wipe stainless steel (silver colored) surfaces withthe grain. To prevent scratching, do not use abrasivecleaners or scrubbers on stainless steel surfaces.Clean stainless steel surfaces with a mild solu-•tion of detergent and warm water. Rinse and drywith a soft, lint-free cloth.You may also use Dacor Stainless Steel Cleaner•on the stainless steel surfaces.
