IM 1240-4 • INTELLIGENT EQUIPMENT 34 www.DaikinApplied.comInstallationEthernet LAN ConfigurationNOTE: Ethernet LAN is one of three possible methodsof cloud connectivity. The method of connectivityis specified at the time of order. You shouldonly configure the gateway for Ethernet LANconnectivity if certain that Ethernet LAN wasspecified at the time of order. If unsure, contact thesalesperson or Daikin Applied Controls TechnicalResponse Center. Prior to configuring the gatewayfor Ethernet LAN, please refer to Appendix A of thisdocument for required IT information. The M2M Gateway is configured using a set of HTML interfacepages within the Wind River Intelligent Device Platform. The table below indentifies the Wind River configurationparameters, along with the corresponding physical porton the M2M Gateway. For reference, it also includes thecorresponding device connection to the M2M Gateway.Wind Riverconfigurationparameter M2M Gateway port Device ConnectionLAN ETH (which is eth0) MTIII Unit Controllerwan USB2 (which is eth1) Local Networkwlan0 WLAN WiFiwwan 3G/GPRS CellularThe following procedures should be used to configure theIntelligent Equipment solution for Ethernet LAN connectivity(NOTE: it is the “wan” interface in the gateway that will beconfigured).1. Remove the USB-to-Ethernet converter from theenvelope and connect it to an open USB port on theM2M Gateway (this is necessary because the M2MGateway has a single Ethernet plug, which is connectedto the MicroTech III controller, and, therefore, unavailablefor the purpose of connecting to the local network).a. Connect the provided Ethernet patch cable to theUSB-to-Ethernet adapter and to the local network(DHCP is enabled by default).2. Using a laptop computer and Ethernet cable, connectto the “ETH” port of the M2M Gateway (you will need totemporarily disconnect the Ethernet cable between theM2M Gateway and the MicroTech III controller, to makeuse of the “ETH” port on the M2M Gateway).3. Navigate to your laptop’s Local Area Connection settingsscreen and change the IP subnet mask to 255 255 0 0,and set the IP address to be compatible with the defaultM2M Gateway IP address of https://172 31 255 1(example compatible address: 172.31.255.7). Formore information on how to change your computer’s IPsettings, consult the Operating System’s “Help” files.4. Temporarily disable the wireless adapter(s) on thecomputer, as these may prevent accessing the HTMLInterface page.5. Open a web browser and type, https://172.31.255.1, thenpress enter.a. When prompted, enter the User Name: “service”.b. Enter the unique password that was provided withthe Gateway hardware and press ENTER.c. This opens the Wind River Intelligent DevicePlatform configuration page in the gateway (Figure75 on page 35).NOTE: If you will use DHCP for your local networkconfiguration, please proceed to step 8.6. Click the ‘Network’ tab7. Locate the ‘wan Configuration’ section (Figure 76 onpage 36)a. Under wan Configuration select ‘Static IP’ forConnection Typeb. Ensure that Interface = eth1c. Enter the IP, Subnet, and Gateway addressinformationd. Under wan DNS Servers enter your network’sprimary DNS server and click ‘Add’ (NOTE: If youprefer to use a public DNS server, use 8.8.8.8 or4.2.2.2)e. If a secondary DNS server address is to beentered, enter it after the page has reloaded andclick ‘Add’ and enter the secondary address.8. Click the ‘Save Changes’ button in the lower right cornerof the page. Then, click ‘Apply Changes’.a. IMPORTANT: Allow the page to refreshb. Confirm that there is number in parentheses nextto “Review Changes”. If so, proceed to step 7; ifnot, repeat steps 5 and 6.9. Click the ‘Apply Changes’ button in the lower right-handcorner of the screen. The page will automatically refreshwhen complete (this can take as much as two minutes).10. Click the ‘Multiwan’ taba. Scroll to the bottom of the page and Click ‘AddNew Interface’ (Figure 77 on page 36)b. Name the interface, “wan” (must match the nameof the interface configured in step 5.c. Click ‘Add new interface’
