To preventsurface rust and discoloration, spray all bare metal partswith a rust preventive compound.Cabinet SectionsOnce a month, open a door on each section and verify that nomoisture or debris is accumulating in the unit.Control Compartment1 Daikin Applied recommends that the electronic controlequipment in the unit be stored in a 5% to 95% RH (non-condensing) environment.2 It may be necessary to put a heat source (light bulb) inthe main control panel to prevent the accumulation ofatmospheric condensate within the panel. The locationand wattage of the heat source is dependent on localenvironmental conditions.3 Check the control compartment every two weeks toconfirm that the heat source is functional and is adequatefor current conditions.Filter ReplacementThis unit is provided with filters are show in Table 33. Thesefilters are disposable and should be replaced periodically.Unit is equipped with a filter pull to assist in this process. SeeFigure 78Table 33: Filter SizesCabinet Size Filter Size003—006 4 - 16" × 16"007—015 4 - 24" × 24"016—028 9 - 18" × 24"RestartAfter extended storage, perform a complete start up. Inevitableaccumulations of dirt, insect nests, etc. can contribute toproblems if not cleaned out thoroughly prior to start up. Inaddition, thermal cycling tends to loosen mechanical andelectrical connections. Following the startup procedure helpsdiscover these and other issues that may have developedduring the storage interval.Figure 78: Rebel Filter SectionFansThe supply, condenser and exhaust fan motors arepermanently lubricated and require no periodic lubrication.Vibration LevelsEach unit as shipped is trim balanced to operate smoothly. Toprovide satisfactory operation after shipping and installation, use accepted industry guidelines for field balancing fans.NOTE: Excessive vibration from any cause contributes topremature fan and motor bearing failure. Monitoroverall vibration levels every six months of operation. An increase in levels is an indication of potentialtroubleVibration Causes1 Wheel imbalance.a Dirt or debris on wheel blades.b Wheel distorted from overspeed.2 Bent shaft.3 Motor imbalance.4 Fan section not supported evenly on foundation.Periodic Service and Maintenance• Check all moving parts for wear every six months. The Rebel unit is equipped with a direct drive, variablespeed fan/motor combination. When equipped, theexhaust fan will be the same. There are no belts orpulleys to maintain. The bearing are permanently sealedand do not require periodic greasing.
