Operating systems: Windows XP / Vista / 7, 32 / 64-bit.Setup Steps: OverviewTake the following steps in order to setup and run your camera system. They are describedbriefly below and in more detail in the sections that follow.1. Install and configure frame grabber and softwareWe recommend the Xcelera-CL PX8 Full frame grabber or equivalent, described in detail onthe teledynedalsa.com site here. If your host computer does not have a PX8 full CameraLink frame grabber then you will need to install one. Follow the manufacturer’s installationinstructions.A GenCP (Generic Control Protocol) compliant XML device description file is embeddedwithin the camera firmware allowing GenCP-compliant applications to know the camera’scapabilities immediately after connection. Installing SaperaLT gives you access to theCamExpert GUI, a tool that supports GenCP-compliant devices.2. Connect Camera Link and power cables Connect the Camera Link cables from the camera to the computer. Connect a power cable from the camera to a +12 VDC to +24 VDC power supply.3. Establish communicating with the cameraStart the GUI and establish communication with the camera.ASCII CommandsAs an alternative to the CamExpert (or equivalent) GUI, you can communicate with thiscamera using ASCII-based commands. Operate the cameraAt this point you will be ready to start operating the camera in order to acquire images, setcamera functions, and save settings.
