They may be usedas the basis for calculation of the harmonic currents'influence on the power supply system and for thedocumentation of compliance with relevant regionalguidelines: IEEE 519 -1992; G5/4.2.9.7 Immunity RequirementsThe immunity requirements for adjustable frequency drivesdepend on the environment where they are installed. Therequirements for the industrial environment are higherthan the requirements for the home and officeenvironment. All Danfoss adjustable frequency drivescomply with the requirements for the industrialenvironment and consequently comply also with the lowerrequirements for home and office environment with alarge safety margin.In order to document immunity against electricalinterference from electrical phenomena, the followingimmunity tests have been made on a system consisting ofa Adjustable frequency drive (with options if relevant), ashielded control cable and a control box with potenti-ometer, motor cable and motor.The tests were performed in accordance with the followingbasic standards:• EN 61000-4-2 (IEC 61000-4-2): Electrostaticdischarges (ESD): Simulation of electrostaticdischarges from human beings.• EN 61000-4-3 (IEC 61000-4-3): Incoming electro-magnetic field radiation, amplitude modulatedsimulation of the effects of radar and radiocommunication equipment as well as mobilecommunications equipment.• EN 61000-4-4 (IEC 61000-4-4): Electricalinterference: Simulation of interference broughtabout by switching a contactor, relay or similardevices.• EN 61000-4-5 (IEC 61000-4-5): Surge transients:Simulation of transients brought about, e.g., bylightning that strikes near installations.• EN 61000-4-6 (IEC 61000-4-6): RF Common mode:Simulation of the effect from radio-transmissionequipment joined by connection cables.See Table 2.16.Introduction to VLT® HVAC D...
