• In addition to the L1, L2 and L3 supply voltageinputs on the power supply module, the servosystem has other supply voltage inputs, includingexternal 24 V DC. Before commencing repairwork, check that all supply voltage inputs havebeen switched off and that the necessarydischarge time for the intermediate circuitcapacitors has elapsed.• The supply of power to the servo system must beswitched off for repair work. Before disconnectingor connecting the hybrid cable or disconnectingcables from the connection box and/or the powersupply module, ensure that the mains supply isdisconnected and the necessary discharge timehas elapsed.WARNINGHIGH VOLTAGEThe ISD 410 servomotors are electrically powered servodrives with DC link circuits. The capacitors in the DC linkshold stored energy even after the supply voltage has beenswitched off. The total capacitance of the DC link is higherthan that of an individual servomotor because theservomotors in the system are configured as a group withtheir DC links connected in parallel. For this reason, thecapacitor discharge times must always be observedwithout fail.CAUTIONNever connect or disconnect the hybrid cable to or fromthe servomotor when voltage is present. Doing so willdamage the electronic circuitry. Observe the dischargetime for the DC link capacitors.3.4 Qualified PersonnelInstallation, commissioning and maintenance of theISD 410 servo system may only be carried out by qualifiedpersonnel. For the purposes of this document and the safetyinstructions in this document, qualified staff are trainedstaff who are authorised to fit, install, commission, earthand label equipment, systems and circuits in accordancewith the standards for safety technology and who arefamiliar with the safety concepts of automationengineering.Additionally, the personnel must be familiar with all theinstructions and safety measures described in theseoperating instructions. They must have suitable safety equipment and be trainedin first aid.3.5 Due DiligenceThe operator and/or fabricator must ensure that:• the servomotor is used only as intended• the servomotor is operated only in a perfectoperational condition• the operating instructions are always availablenear the servomotor in complete and readableform• the servomotor is fitted, installed, commissionedand maintained only by adequately qualified andauthorised personnel• these personnel are regularly instructed on allrelevant matters of occupational safety andenvironmental protection, as well as the contentsof the operating instructions and in particular theinstructions it contains• the product markings and identification markingsapplied to the servomotor, as well as safety andwarning instructions, are not removed and arealways kept in a legible condition• the national and international regulationsregarding the control of machinery andequipment, that are applicable at the place of useof the servo system, are complied with• the users always have all current informationrelevant to their interests about the servo systemand its use and operation3.6 Intended UseThe servomotors are intended to be installed in machinesused in commercial and industrial environments. To ensure that the product is used as intended, thefollowing conditions must be fulfilled before using theISD 410 servomotor:• Everyone who uses one of our products in anymanner must read and understand thecorresponding safety regulations and thedescription of the intended use• Hardware must be left in its original state, whichmeans that no structural changes may be madeto the hardware• Software products may not be reverse-engineeredand their source code may not be altered• Damaged or faulty products may not be installedor put into serviceSafety Instructions VLT® ISD 410 Servomotor Operating Instructions10 MG75D102 - VLT® is a registered Danfoss trademark33
