INSTALLATION3533.3 POSITIONINGThe DS2100N scanner is able to decode moving barcode labels at a variety of angles, however significant angular distortion may degrade reading performance. When mounting the DS2100N take into consideration these three ideal label position angles:Skew 10° to 30°, Tilt 0° and Pitch 0°.Follow the suggestions for the best orientation:Figure 35 - Skew AngleFigure 36 - Tilt AngleThe Skew angle is represented by the valueS in Figure 35. Position the reader to assureat least 10° for the Skew angle. This avoidsthe direct reflection of the laser light emittedby the DS2100N.For the raster version, this angle refers to themost inclined or external raster line, so thatall other raster lines assure more than 10°Skew.The Tilt angle is represented by the value Tin Figure 36. Position the reader in order tominimize the Tilt angle.By using the Reconstruction Reading Modesoftware parameter, the tilt angle is lesscritical and can be decoded even if the scanline doesn’t cross the entire code.See par. 7.1 or the Help On Line for details. The Pitch angle is represented by the valueP in Figure 37. Position the reader in orderto minimize the Pitch angle.Figure 37 - Pitch AngleSTP
