Although staring directly at the laser beammomentarily causes no known biological damage, avoid staring at the beam as one wouldwith any very strong light source, such as the sun. Avoid that the laser beam hits the eye ofan observer, even through reflective surfaces such as mirrors, etc.This product conforms to the applicable requirements of IEC 60825-1 and complies with 21CFR 1040.10 except for deviations pursuant to Laser Notice N° 50, date June 24, 2007. Thescanner is classified as a Class 2 laser product according to IEC 60825-1 regulations.There is a safety device, which allows the laser to be switched on only if the motor is rotatingabove the threshold for its correct scanning speed.The laser beam can be switched off through a software command (see also the Genius™Help On Line).WARNINGUse of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other thanthose specified herein may result in exposure to hazardous visible laserlight.The laser light is visible to the human eye and is emitted from the window on the front of thescanner (Figure A, 7).Warning labels indicating exposure to laser light and the device classification are appliedonto the body of the scanner (Figure A, 1).
