12SLEEp FUNCTION (FIG. 20)This function is useful for the night as it gradual-ly reduces operation of the appliance.To set this function correctly:• Select the operating mode (air conditioning,dehumidifying, heating or smart as descri-bed above.)• press the button. The appliance operatesin the previously selected mode.The Sleep function maintains the room at opti-mum temperature without excessive fluctuationsin either temperature or humidity and with nearsilent operation. Room temperature and humidi-ty vary gradually to ensure the most comfortableconditions.During air conditioning, the temperature increa-ses by 2°f (1°C) every 60 minutes and a furtherdegree after 2 hours. In dehumidifying mode, thedehumidifying power of the appliance is partiallyreduced every hour twice. In heating mode, thetemperature drops by 2°f (1°C) every hour, th-ree times. In all modes the unit will shutdownafter 8 hours.SWING FUNCTION (FIG. 21)Moves the grill flaps to distribute air uniformlythroughout the room, or to focus air in a certaindirection.When the SWING button is pressed and theflaps have begun moving alternately forwardsand backwards, pressing the button again willlock the flaps in their current position. pressingthe button again will restart the flaps movingforwards and backwards. When the applianceis turned off, the flaps will close irrespective oftheir position.pROGRAMMING THE TIMERThe timer can be programmed to start up andshut down to fit in with your needs.programming start upWith the unit on, make all the desired settingsfor when the appliance will switch on (operatingmode, fan speed and temperature), then turn theappliance off.• press the on button. The start-up time andmessage “ON TIMER” flash on the remote con-trol display (fig. 22).• press the or buttons to set the timeyou want the appliance to start up.• When that time is reached, press the SETbutton to confirm (fig. 23). The message“ON TIMER” appears on the remote controldisplay and the symbol is displayed onthe appliance to indicate that the timer is ac-tive.
