14• make sure there are no heat sources in theroom.• never use the appliance in very damp rooms(laundries for example).• never use the appliance outdoors.• make sure the air conditioner is standing ona level surface. if necessary, place the castorlocks under the front wheels.AIR pURIFYING FILTERSThe appliance is fitted with a silver ion dust fil-ter which retains the impurities in the air drawnin from the room and a 3M® electrostatic filterwhich retains the finest dust particles (fig. 29).SILVER ION FILTERThe silver ion filter not only retains dust parti-cles, but also has an efficient antibacterial action.It also greatly reduces concentrations of irritantssuch as pollen and spores.The filter is treated with small particles of silver(on the scale of millionths of a millimetre) whichare able to block the multiplication of and destroyany bacteria or spores they come into contactwith.3M® ELECTROSTATIC FILTERThe 3M® electrostatic filter retains the finestdust particles, thus enhancing the filtering capa-city of the appliance.To use the 3M® electrostatic filter:A) Remove the intake grilleB) remove the filter from the packagingC) Use the two plastic edges of the 3M® filterto hook it to the special attachments on thedust filter already inside the intake grille.D) replace the grille on the appliance.TIpS FOR OpTIMAL pERFORMANCETo get the best from your air conditioner, followthese recommendations:• close the windows and doors in the room tobe air conditioned (fig. 26).
