4314.2 Cleaning the inside of the coffee machineDanger of electric shock!Before cleaning internal parts, the machine must be turned off(see section “7. Turning the appliance off”) and unplugged fromthe mains power supply. Never immerse the coffee machine inwater.1. Check regularly (about once a month) that the inside ofthe appliance (accessible after removing the drip tray, A24)is not dirty. If necessary, remove coffee deposits with thebrush (C5) supplied and a sponge;2. Remove all the residues with a vacuum cleaner (fig. 25).14.3 Cleaning the water tank1. Clean the water tank (A18) regularly (about once a month)and whenever you replace the water softener filter (C4) (ifprovided) with a damp cloth and a little mild washing upliquid;2. Remove the filter (C4) (if present) and rinse with runningwater;3. Replace the filter (if provided), fill the tank with freshwater and replace the tank;4. (Models with water softener filter only) Deliver 100ml ofwater to reactivate the filter.4.1 Cleaning the coffee spouts1. Clean the coffee spouts (A14) regularly with a sponge orcloth (fig. 26A);2. Check that the holes in the coffee spouts are not blocked.If necessary, remove coffee deposits with a toothpick (fig.26B).14.4 Cleaning the pre-ground coffee funnelCheck regularly (about once a month) that the pre-ground cof-fee funnel (A6) is not blocked. If necessary, remove coffee de-posits with the brush (C5) supplied.14.5 Cleaning the infuserThe infuser (A9) must be cleaned at least once a month.Important!The infuser may not be extracted when the machine is on.1. Make sure the machine is correctly turned off (see “7. Turn-ing the appliance off”);2. Remove the water tank (A18);3. Open the infuser door (A10) (fig. 27) on the right side ofthe appliance;4. Press the two coloured release buttons inwards and at thesame time pull the infuser outwards (fig. 28);5. Soak the infuser in water for about 5 minutes, then rinseunder the tap;Important!Rinse with water onlyNo washing up liquid - no dish washerClean the infuser without using washing up liquid as itcould be damaged.6. Use the brush (C5) to remove any coffee residues left in theinfuser housing, visible through the infuser door;7. After cleaning, replace the infuser by sliding it onto the in-ternal support, then push the PUSH symbol fully in until itclicks into place;Please note:If the infuser is difficult to insert, before insertion, adapt it to theright size by pressing the two levers (fig. 29).8. Once inserted, make sure the two coloured buttons havesnapped out;9. Close the infuser door;10. Put the water tank back.14.6 Cleaning the milk containerClean the milk container (D) each time you prepare milk as de-scribed below:1. Remove the lid (D2);2. Remove the milk spout (D5) and intake tube (D4) (fig. 30);3. Turn the froth adjustment dial (D1) anticlockwise to the“INSERT” position (fig. 31) and pull off upwards;4. Wash all the components thoroughly with hot water andmild washing-up liquid. All components are dish-washer safe, placing them in the top basket of thedishwasher.5. Make sure there are no milk residues on the hollow andgroove under the dial (fig. 32). If necessary, scrape thegroove with a toothpick;6. Rinse inside the froth adjustment dial seat with runningwater (fig. 33);7. Check that the intake tube and milk spout are not cloggedwith milk residues;8. Replace the dial (in cor-respondence to the word“INSERT”), spout and milkintake tube;9. Place the lid back on themilk container (D3).33A
