DECATHLON SERIES GAS FRYERS (CE)CHAPTER 5: THERMATRON OPERATION5-15.1 Operating Fryers with Thermatron ControllersMany Decathlon fryers use a solid-statetemperature controller, or Thermatron® controllerinstead of a computer or basic thermostat. AThermatron system incorporates a temperature-control circuit board, a potentiometer, and atemperature probe. This system is more accurateand more reliable than a standard thermostat, andless expensive than a computer controller.Various switch options are available onDecathlon frying systems. Two typicalconfigurations on current production systems areillustrated below (switch locations will vary frommodel to model).Configuration #1Thermatron Temperature ControllerPOWERBOIL OUTFFNFBOIL OUTFOFONFFOFPOWERO O O MKNONMAIN POWERUPTOON OFF ONACBTFryer Power Switch: controls power toeach individual fryer, both in Thermatron orback-up mode.Boil-Out Switch: operates only in "Thermatron" mode. When"ON", this switch bypasses the Thermatron melt-cycle andallows the water temperature to reach 196°F.Main Power Switch (optional): connects/disconnects primarypower; double-lighted with center position "OFF". This switchcontrols two Thermatron controllers /Compu-Fry computers and/ortwo back-up thermostats (optional).High-Limit Reset Switch: located undereach individual control panel. Thisswitch must be manually reset if fryerexceeds high-limit setpoint.Filter Reset Switch [7 Amp (115VAC)or 5 Amp (230VAC) Circuit Breaker]: thisswitch is inline between the filter pumpand incoming line voltage.
