32 Setting up Network PrintingDetermining the Wireless Network SettingsYou need to know the settings for the wireless network to set up the wireless printer. For details ofthe settings, contact your network administrator.Wireless Installation using USB connectionNOTE: The optional multi protocol card with the Wireless LAN Adapter attached must be installed on theprinter.Scene 1. Install a printer to the already-operating wireless network (When wireless setting is alreadyset to your computer)1. Insert theDrivers and Utilities CD into your computer.2. TheDrivers and Utilities CD should launch the installation software automatically.If the CD does not automatically launch, click Start → Run, type D:\Setup.exe (where Dis the drive letter of your CD), and then click OK.3. Select the Network Installation option button, and then click Next.4. Select the Configure Wireless Printer using a USB connection (Recommended) optionbutton, and then click Next.5. Reset the wireless setting of the printer following the steps on the Reset Wireless Settingscreen.6. In the list on the Select Printer screen, check the check box of the target printer that you aremaking wireless setting for, and then click Next. On the Enter Wireless Network Settingsscreen, set each wireless setting item, and then click Next. When you select the Fixed IPoption button for IP address assignment, click Settings... and enter the IP address and subnetmask on the screen.NOTE: When you enter a fixed IP address, avoid the “169.254.xxx.xxx” address used by AutoIP.7. Set each item on the Enter Printer Settings screen, and then click Next.WirelessSettingsSSID Specifies the name () that identifies the wireless network. Up to 32alphanumeric characters.Network Type Specifies the network type from Ad-hoc or Infrastructure.SecuritySettingsSecurity Selects the security method from No security, WEP, WPA-PSKTKIP and WPA-PSK AES.Transmit Key Specifies the transmit key from the list.WEP Key Specified the WEP key set used through the wireless network onlywhen WEP is selected for Security.Pass Phrase Specifies the pass phrase of alphanumeric characters from 8 to 63bytes long only when WPA-PSX is selected for Encryption.
