While you work, periodically touch an unpainted metal surface todissipate any static electricity that could harm internal components.1. Follow the procedures in Before You Begin.2. Remove any components that restrict access to the system board.3. Remove the heat sink assembly and processor.4. Disconnect all cables from the system board.5. Before you remove the existing system board, visually compare the replacement system board to the existing board toensure that you have the correct part.6. Remove the six screws that secure the system board to the bottom of the computer.7. Slide the system board assembly toward the front of the computer, and then carefully lift the system board up and outof the computer.1 screws (6)8. Place the system board assembly that you just removed next to the replacement system board to ensure that it isidentical.NOTE: Some components and connectors on the replacement system board may be in different locations fromcorresponding connectors on the existing system board.Replacing the System Board1. Gently align the system board into the chassis and slide it toward the back of the computer.2. Replace the six screws to secure the system board to the computer.
