2Performing initial system configurationAfter you receive your PowerEdge system, you must set up your system in the enclosure, install theoperating system if it is not pre-installed, and set up and configure the system iDRAC IP address.Setting up your system1. Unpack the blade.2. Remove the I/O connector cover from the blade connectors.CAUTION: While installing the blade, ensure that it is properly aligned with the slot on theenclosure, to prevent damage to the blade connectors.3. Install the blade in the enclosure.4. Turn on the enclosure.NOTE: Wait for the chassis to initialize before you press the power button.5. Turn on the blade by pressing the power button on the blade.Alternatively, you can also turn on the blade by using:• The blade iDRAC.
