6Setting Up Your XPS™ 625Connect the DisplayYour computer does not have an integratedvideo connector. You can use the connectoravailable on the video card in the expansion slotto connect to the display.Connect the Video Cable to theDisplayCheck your TV or monitor to see which type ofconnectors are available. Refer to the followingtable when identifying the connectors on yourdisplay to select the connection type you willuse.VGAHDMIDVIConnect the display using either the VGAconnector, the HDMI connector, or the DVIconnector.The HDMI connector is a high-performancedigital connector that carries both video andaudio signals for displays such as TVs andmonitors with integrated speakers. The VGAconnector carries only video signals for displayssuch as monitors and projectors.Connect Using the VGA ConnectorConnect the display using a VGA cable (whichusually has blue connectors at both ends).If your display has a DVI connector, use the VGAcable (with blue connectors at both ends) with aDVI-to-VGA adapter.
