11Setting Up Your XPS DesktopConnect the NetworkCable (Optional)A network connection is not required tocomplete your computer setup, but ifyou have an existing network or Internetconnection that uses a cable connection(such as a broadband device or Ethernet jack),you can connect it now.NOTE: Use only an Ethernet cable(RJ45 connector) to connect to thenetwork connector. Do not plug atelephone cable (RJ11 connector) intothe network connector.To connect your computer to a network ora broadband device, connect one end of thenetwork cable to either a network port or abroadband device. Connect the other end ofthe network cable to the network connector(RJ45 connector) on the back panel of yourcomputer. A click indicates that the networkcable has been securely attached.
