10Connecting an iPod or USB memory device to the USBportYou can enjoy music stored on an iPod or USB memory device.Cables used for connectionsTo connect an iPod to this unit, use the USB cable supplied with the iPod.USB memorydeviceiPodor• When you want to play back a video file stored on an iPod, use a DENON control dock for iPod (ASD-1Rand ASD-11R, sold separately) (vpage 10 “Connecting a control dock for iPod”).• With iPods, playback is possible with iPhone, iPod touch, classic and nano released from the 5th-generationof iPods. For details, check page 24.• DENON does not guarantee that all USB memory devices will operate or receive power. When usinga portable USB connection type HDD of the kind to which an AC adapter can be connected to supplypower, use the AC adapter.NOTE• USB memory devices will not work via a USB hub.• Do not use an extension cable when connecting a USB memory device. This may cause radio interferencewith other devices.• This unit does not support playback on an iPad. Do not connect an iPad to the unit.• When connecting an iPhone to this unit, keep the iPhone at least 20 cm away from this unit. If the iPhoneis kept closer to this unit and a telephone call is received by the iPhone, noise may be output from thisdevice.Connecting a control dock for iPod• Connect a control dock for iPod to the unit to enjoy video and music stored on an iPod.• For a control dock for iPod, use ASD-1R or ASD-11R made by DENON (sold separately).• For instructions on the control dock for iPod settings, refer to the control dock for iPod’s operatinginstructions.R LR LASD-11RControl dock for iPodUse the AV/ControlCable supplied withthe DENON controldock for iPod.
