85System SetupSetting items Setting detailsChannel LevelSet the volume of the testtone to be the same when itis output from each speaker.Test Tone Start : Output test tone.• Front L / F.Height L / Center / F.Height R / Front R / Surround R /S.Back Rz / S.Back Lz / Surround L / Subwoofer : Select the speaker.z When the “Speaker Config.” – “S.Back” setting (vpage 83) is setto “1spkr”, “S.Back” is displayed.• –12.0dB – +12.0dB (0.0dB) : Adjust the volume.When “Channel Level” is adjusted, the adjusted values are set for all thesurround modes. To adjust the channel level separately for the differentsurround modes, use the operation see page 60.NOTE• Speakers set to “None” in the “Speaker Config.” (vpage 83)settings are not displayed.• When a headphones jack is inserted in the PHONES jack of this unit, the“Channel Level” is not displayed.Default : The “Channel Level” settings are returned to the default settings.• Yes : Reset to the defaults.• No : Do not reset to the defaults.When you select “Default” and press ENTER,the “Return settings to the default?” promptis displayed. Set theCrossover Frequency tosuit the bass reproductioncapability of the speakerbeing used.Crossover : Set the crossover frequency.• 40Hz / 60Hz / 80Hz / 90Hz / 100Hz / 110Hz / 120Hz / 150Hz / 200Hz /250HzAdvanced : Specify crossover frequency for each speaker.• Front / Center / Surround / S.Back / F.Height : Select the speaker.• 40Hz / 60Hz / 80Hz / 90Hz / 100Hz / 110Hz / 120Hz / 150Hz / 200Hz /250Hz : Set the crossover frequency.• “Crossover Freq.” can be set when the “Bass Setting” – “SubwooferMode” (vpage 84) setting is “LFE+Main”, or when you have aspeaker that is set to “Small”.• Always set the crossover frequency to “80Hz”. When using smallspeakers, however, we recommend setting the crossover frequency toa higher frequency.• For speakers set to “Small”, sound below the crossover frequencyis cut from the sound output. The cut bass sound is output from thesubwoofer or front speakers.• The speakers that can be set when “Advanced” is selected differdepending on to the “Subwoofer Mode” setting (vpage 84).• When “LFE” is selected, speakers set to “Small” at “Speaker Config.”can be set. If the speakers are set to “Large”, “Full Band” is displayedand the setting cannot be made.• If set to “LFE+Main”, this setting can be made regardless of thespeaker size.Front Sp SetupSet the front speakers touse for every surroundmode.NOTEThis can be set when “AmpAssign” is set to “Front B”(vpage 83).2CH DIRECT/STEREO : The front speakers used in the direct, stereo andpure direct play modes (2 channel) are set in advance.• A : Front speaker A is used.• B : Front speaker B is used.• A+B : Both front speakers A and B are used.MULTI CH : The front speakers used in modes other than the direct,stereo and pure direct play modes (2 channel) are set in advance.• A : Front speaker A is used.• B : Front speaker B is used.• A+B : Both front speakers A and B are used.
