14ENGLISHCONNECTING AUDIO COMPONENTSThe output audio signal from the TAPE OUT jack andthe CD-R/MD OUT jack is the same signal which iscurrently selected.Caution:Do not connect this unit and other components to mainspower until all connections between components havebeen completed.Notes:• Insert all plugs and connectors securely. Incompleteconnections may make noise.• Be sure to connect the left and right channelsproperly.Red connectors are for the R (right) channel, andwhite connectors are for the L (left) channel.• Be sure to connect input and output properly.• Refer to the instructions for each component that isconnected to this unit.• Do not bind audio/video connection cables withpower cords and speaker cables this will result ingenerating a hum or other noise.CONNECTING DIGITAL AUDIO COMPONENTS• There are 6 digital inputs, 2 coaxial jacks and 4optical jacks (include AUX) , on the rear panel. Youcan use these jacks to input PCM, Dolby Digitaland DTS bitstream signals from a CD, DVD, orother digital source components.• There is one digital output coaxial jack and oneoptical output jack on the rear panel. These jackscan be connected to a CD recorder-, or a MD deckinputs, respectively.• Refer to the instructions for each component. Tosetup the digital audio format of DVD player, orother digital source’s connected to digital inputjacks.• Use fiber optical cables (optical) for DIG-1,2,3 orAUX1 (OPT) input jacks. Use 75 ohms coaxialcables (for digital audio or video) for DIG-4,5 inputjacks.• You can designate the input for each digital input/output jacks according to your component. Seepage 20.Notes:• There is no Dolby Digital RF input jack. Please usean external RF demodulator Dolby Digital decoderwhen connecting the Dolby Digital RF output jackof the video disc player to the digital input jack.• The digital signal jacks on this unit conform tothe EIA standard.
