6ENGLISHAudio cableCable indicationsThe hookup diagrams on the subsequent pages assume the use of the following optional connectioncables (not supplied).NOTE:• Do not plug in the power supply cord until all connections have been completed.• When making connections, also refer to the operating instructions of the other components.• Be sure to connect the left and right channels properly (left with left, right with right).• Do not bundle power cords together with speaker cables. Doing so could result in humming or noise.ConnectionsAnalog connections (Stereo)ARLRLPin-plug cable(White)(Red)Speaker connectionsCSpeaker cableAnalog connections (Monaural, for subwoofer)BPin-plug cableVideo connectionsDVideo cable (75 Ω/ohms video pin-plug cable)(Yellow)Signal directionAudio signalOUT ININ OUTVideo signalOUT ININ OUTSpeaker ImpedanceConnecting the speaker cablesSpeaker connectionsConnect the speaker terminals with the speakersmaking sure that like polarities are matched (<with <, > with >).¢ Speaker impedanceNote on speaker impedanceWhen using speakers with an impedancebelow the designated value (for example 4Ω/ohms), playing for long periods of time withthe volume high could cause the temperatureto rise, activating the protection circuit. When the protection circuit is activated, theoutput to the speakers is cut off and the powerindicator blinks. If this happens, unplug thepower cord, wait for the set to cool off andimprove ventilation around the unit. Also checkthe wiring of the input cables and the speakercables. After doing this, plug the power cordback in and turn the unit’s power back on.If the protection circuit is activated again eventhough there are no problems with the wiring orthe ventilation around the unit, switch off thepower and contact a DENON service center.NOTE:When making connections, take care thatnone of the individual conductors of thespeaker cable come in contact with adjacentterminals, with other speaker cableconductors, or with the rear panel andscrews.NEVER touch the speaker terminals whenthe power is on. Doing so could result inelectric shocks.1. Loosen by turningcounterclockwise.2. Insert the cable.Either tightly twist or terminate thecore wires.3.
