This will only last a fewhours.Because this fireplace has an electronicignition system, in the event there is a lossof power, it will be necessary to manuallylight the pilot with the piezo ignitor. Afterthe pilot is lit, the main burner will lightautomatically.1. Follow steps 1 through 3 under Nor-mal Lighting Instructions, page 20.2. Set manual ignition bypass switch oncontrol panel to ON position (manualignition position). See Figure 51.3. The pilot is attached to the rear ofthe front burner. You will be able tosee the pilot and spark electrodewithout removing the screen or logs.4. Place the magnetic manual overridehandle, provided with this unit, onthe end of the gas valve stem (see Fig-ure 51).3. Point remote control toward thelower front of fireplace and pushboth buttons at the same time. Holdfor 6 seconds. The gas valve will openand electronic ignition will beginsparking to light the pilot.Note: Youwill be able to hear a clicking soundduring this process. LED on wallswitch will light.Note: You may be running thisheater for the first time after connect-ing to gas supply or at the start ofyour heating season. If so, the ONbutton may need to be pressed again.This will allow air to bleed from gassystem. If several attempts to lightpilot fail, contact a qualified serviceperson or gas supplier for repairs.Until repairs are made, light and op-erate manually (see Manual LightingInstructions for Electrical Power Out-age, pages 20 and 21).4. When pilot flame is lit, the thermo-couple is heated by the flame. Whenthermocouple becomes hot (5 to 15seconds), main burner will automati-cally light on high flame.5.
