If fireplace is to be installed directly oncarpeting, tile (other than ceramic) or anycombustible material other than woodflooring, fireplace must be installed on ametal or wood panel extending full widthand depth of fireplace.3. Set fireplace directly in front of this open-ing and slide unit back until nailing flangestouch side framing.4. Check level of fireplace and shim withsheet metal if necessary.5. Before securing fireplace to preparedframing, ember protector (provided) mustbe placed between hearth extension (notsupplied) and under bottom front edge offireplace to protect against glowing embersfalling through. If fireplace is to be installedon a raised platform, a Z-type ember pro-tector (not supplied) must be fabricated tofit your required platform height. The emberprotector should extend under the fireplacea minimum of 1 1/2". The ember protectorshould be made of galvanized sheet metal(28 gauge minimum to prevent corrosion.6. Using screws or nails, secure fireplace toframing through flanges located on sidesof fireplace.
