In the OFF position, the blowerwill not operate. In the AUTO position, theblower will start when the thermostat senses asufficient increase in firebox temperature.Note: Your fireplace and thermostat blowerwill not turn on and off at the same time. Thefireplace may run for several minutes before theblower turns on. After the heater modulates tothe pilot position, the blower will continue torun. The blower will shut off after the fireboxtemperature decreases.Note: It is safe to operate fireplace with blowerturned off. Read the safety information startingin column 1.2. Make sure equipment shutoff valve is fullyopen.3. Press in and turn control knob clockwiseto the OFF position (see Figure 39,page 24).4. Wait five (5) minutes to clear out any gas.Then smell for gas, including near the floor.If you smell gas, STOP! Follow “B” in thesafety information, column 1. If you donʼtsmell gas, go to the next step.• Immediately call your gas supplier froma neighborʼs phone. Follow the gassupplierʼs instructions.• If you cannot reach your gas supplier, callthe fire department.C. Use only your hand to push in or turn thegas control knob. Never use tools. If theknob will not push in or turn by hand, donʼttry to repair it, call a qualified service tech-nician or gas supplier. Force or attemptedrepair may result in a fire or explosion.D. Do not use this appliance if any part has beenunder water. Immediately call a qualifiedservice technician to inspect the appliance andto replace any part of the control system andany gas control which has been under water.
