Add embers to front flat burner. Gently removeembers from the bag using gloves or tweezers.(This material is a skin irritant. Glovesor tweezers are recommended to preventskin irritation). Separate pieces of embermaterial and place over surface of flat burner(see Figure 27). Spread ember material evenlyover surface for greatest glowing effect. DoNOT place ember material anywhere elseon the unit. Use only ember material sup-plied with unit. Excessive ember materialmay produce carbon monoxide or soot.WARNING: Do not use rockwool or any other ember materialnot supplied with this unit.WARNING: Do not operateunit without ember materialcorrectly in place as shown inFigure 27.7. Place center crossover log (#7) onto pin on log#5 and resting on grate as shown in Figure 28.Log #7 must overlap grate and rest against gratefinger. Log must not rest on burner.8. Add lava rock and small decorative logsaround base of heater if desired. DO NOTplace rock or additional logs on frontburner or on logs. Placing any material onunit other than ember material on front burnermay result in production of carbon monoxideor soot. Use lava rock to hide wires fromswitch/log to control valve.
