Wall or framing materialcan be placed directly against any exterior sur-face on the back, sides or top of your fireplace,except where standoff spacers are integrallyattached. If standoff spacers are attached to yourfireplace, these spacers can be placed directlyagainst wall or framing material. See framingdetails on page 7.• If you plan on installing a television or enter-tainment center recessed above your fireplace, itis recommended that you maintain a minimum18" above top of louver opening.• When locating termination cap, it is importantto observe the minimum clearances shown inFigure 7, page 8.• If recessing into a wall, you can avoid extraframing by positioning your fireplace againstan already existing framing member.• Do not recess termination cap into a wall orsiding.• You may paint the termination cap with 450ºF(232ºC) heat-resistant paint to coordinate withthe exterior finish.• There must not be any obstruction such asbushes, garden sheds, fences, decks or util-ity buildings within 24" from the front of thetermination cap.• Do not locate termination cap where excessivesnow or ice build up may occur.
