Follow the gas sup-plier’s instructions.• If you cannot reach your gas supplier, callthe fire department.C. Use only your hand to push in or turn thegas control knob. Never use tools. If theknob will not push in or turn by hand, don’ttry to repair it, call a qualified service tech-nician or gas supplier. Force or attemptedrepair may result in a fire or explosion.D. Do not use this appliance if any part hasbeen under water. Immediately call aqualified service technician to inspect theappliance and to replace any part of thecontrol system and any gas control whichhas been under water.3. Check all joints from gas meter to equipmentshutoff valve for natural gas or propane/LP sup-ply to equipment shutoff valve for propane/LP(see Figure 9 or 10). Apply noncorrosive leakdetection fluid to all joints. Bubbles formingshow a leak.4. Correct all leaks at once.PRESSURE TESTING HEATER GASCONNECTIONS1. Open equipment shutoff valve (see Figure 8,page 9).2. Open main gas valve located on or near gasmeter for natural gas or open propane/LPsupply tank valve.3. Make sure control knob of heater is in the OFFposition.4. Check all joints from equipment shutoff valveto control valve (see Figure 9 or 10). Applynoncorrosive leak detection fluid to all joints.Bubbles forming show a leak.5. Correct all leaks at once.6. Light heater (see Operating Heater). Checkall other internal joints for leaks.7. Turn off heater (see To Turn Off Gas to Appli-ance, page 10).
