Making connections 9DX-15E220A12Using DVI (same as HDMI but requires an audioconnection)To connect a cable or satellite box using DVI:1 Turn off your TV and all connected equipment.2 Connect the incoming cable from the cable wall jackto the cable-in jack on the cable or satellite box.3 Connect an HDMI-DVI adapter (not provided) to oneend of an HDMI cable (not provided), then connect itto the DVI OUT jack on the cable or satellite box.4 Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to theHDMI1 jack on the back of your TV.5 Connect a 3.5 mm audio cable (not provided) to thePC AUDIO IN jack on the back of your TV and to theAUDIO OUT jack on the cable or satellite box.6 Turn on your TV, then turn on the cable or satellitebox.7 Go through the setup wizard on page 17.Using component video (better)To connect a cable or satellite box using componentvideo:1 Turn off your TV and all connected equipment.2 Connect the incoming cable from the cable wall jackto the cable-in jack on the cable or satellite box.3 Connect a component video cable (not provided) tothe COMPONENT IN/Y, PB, PR jacks on the side ofyour TV and to the component video out jacks onthe cable or satellite box.4 Connect an audio cable (not provided) to the L andR audio jacks on the side of your TV and to the audioout jack on the cable or satellite TV box.5 Turn on your TV, then turn on the cable or satellitebox.6 Go through the setup wizard on page 17.NoteA DVI device must be connected to the HDMI1 jack.If you connect a DVI device to the HDMI2 jack, youwill not hear any audio.SERVICEPORTHDMI 2 HDMI 1 / DVI VGA PC / DVIAUDIO INDIGITALOUTPUTHDMI cable withHDMI-DVI adapter3.5 mm audio cableCable or satellite boxBack of TV75 ohm coaxial cableY P B PR L - AUDIO - RCOMPONENT INANT / CABLEAV INVIDEOSide of TVComponent video cableAudio cableCable or satellite boxCables are oftencolor-coded to matchcolor-coded jacks.75 ohm coaxial cable
