FAILURE TO DOSO COULD CAUSE PERMANENT EQUIPMENTDAMAGE.1-2 GENERAL INFORMATIONThe purpose of this book is to provide instructions forunpacking, storage, use, operation and maintenance ofType VCP-W Drawout and Type VCP-WR Fixed 38kVVacuum Circuit Breakers. They are similar in many wayswith the main differences centering around thesecondary/primary connection methods and the mountingmethods used. The differences are specifically addressedin this book. The Type VCP-W is a horizontal drawout, rollon the floor type removable interrupter element. TheType VCP-WR is a fixed interrupter element with thecustomer responsible for all required operational andsafety interfaces. Designed to ANSI Standards forreliable performance, ease of handling, and simplifiedmaintenance, VCP-W and VCP-WR circuit breakersprovide reliable control and protection for electricalequipment and circuits. In addition, these technologicallyadvanced circuit breakers provide higher insulation levelsin less space, thus reducing the overall switchgear size.WARNINGSATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE OF THESEBREAKERS IS CONTINGENT UPON PROPERAPPLICATION, CORRECT INSTALLATION ANDADEQUATE MAINTENANCE. THIS INSTRUCTIONBOOK MUST BE CAREFULLY READ ANDFOLLOWED IN ORDER TO OBTAIN OPTIMUMPERFORMANCE FOR LONG USEFUL LIFE OF THECIRCUIT BREAKERS.
