UPS Operating InstructionsEaton 9E UPS (20–30 kVA, 208/220V) Installation and Operation Manual 164202124—Rev 2 www.eaton.com/powerquality 6-116.3 Single UPS Operation6.3.1 Starting the UPS in High-Efficiency Normal Mode (Default Mode)To start the UPS system:1. Unfasten the front door by lifting the latch from the bottom and turning to the right (counterclockwise) andswing the door open (see Figure 6-1).2. Verify that the input breaker is open.3. If the UPS contains a bypass breaker, verify that the bypass breaker is open.4. Close the UPS input feeder circuit breaker.5. If the UPS contains a bypass breaker, close the UPS Bypass input feeder circuit breaker.6. If an ITC with an input transformer is installed, close the input and UPS input breakers.7. If an ITC with an input and output transformer is installed, close the input, UPS input, and UPS outputbreakers.8. Close the input breaker.9. If the UPS contains a bypass breaker, close the bypass breaker.10. Close the door and secure the latch.11. If EBCs are installed, close the battery breakers.12. Observe the UPS control panel display becoming active, indicating logic power.13. Verify no alarms are active.14. Select the CONTROLS symbol on the main menu bar. The System Control screen is displayed.15. If not already selected, select UPS on the System Control screen.16. On the UPS System Control screen, select the NORMAL command, then press the RETURN pushbutton.NOTE 1 If an External Battery Cabinet (EBC) is installed, refer to the Eaton 9E ExternalBattery Cabinet Installation Manual listed in paragraph 1.8 for EBC batterybreaker location.NOTE 2 If an Integrated Transformer Cabinet (ITC) is installed, refer to the Eaton 9EIntegrated Transformer Cabinet Installation Manual listed in paragraph 1.8 forITC transformer breaker locations.NOTE 3 If an Integrated Accessory Cabinet-Distribution (IAC-D) is installed, refer to theEaton 9E Integrated Accessory Cabinet-Distribution Installation and OperationManual listed in paragraph 1.8 for operating instructions.NOTE 4 If an Integrated Accessory Cabinet-Bypass (IAC-B) is installed, refer to the Eaton 9EIntegrated Accessory Cabinet-Tie and Bypass Installation and Operation Manuallisted in paragraph 1.8 for operating instructions.NOTE If two EBCs are installed, EBC 1 must be closed to supply DC input to the UPS. EBC2 may be left open, but battery runtime will be reduced.
