Instruction Leaflet IL16956 Effective May 2011Supersedes January 1991A200 Size 00, 0, 1 or 1P Single-Phase Motor ControllerTHE CONTROLLERThe A200 motor controller, when wired as shown in Figure 4, will operateas a full-voltage starter and will give protection against overload, but notagainst short circuit currents, when wired and provided with overload relay(OLR) heaters as listed in heater selection tables or when used with anymeans of inherent protection activated by motor temperature.The controller should be protected against short circuits by providingbranch circuit protection not to exceed the maximum protective deviceratings listed in Table I.This industrial type control is designed to beinstalled, operated, and maintained by adequatelytrained workmen. These instructions do not coverall details, variations, or combinations of theequipment, its storage, delivery, installation, check-out, safe operation, or maintenance. Care must beexercised to comply with local, state, and nationalregulations, as well as safety practices, for thisclass of equipment.AUXILIARY CONTACTS - TYPE JOne normally-open pole adjacent to the powerpoles is supplied as the holding circuit auxiliary forthe Size 00, 0 and 1 . The Size 1P has a J20 auxiliarycontact assembly for that purpose. A maximumoff our Type J auxiliary units can be installed in therecesses of each contactor. These may be mountedwith the terminals in line with the power poles ormay be mounted with the terminals in a right anglerelationship to the power poles. Auxiliary contactmount by means of a spring clip and retainer screw.To remove the unit rotate the retainer screw severaltime (counterclockwise) and then slide the auxiliarycontact unit out of the recess.
