9Explosion-protected empty enclosure GBXE GB8 Repairs / Overhaul / ModificationsOverhaul and repairs may only be carried out with genuine EATON /Cooper Crouse-Hinds GmbH spare parts.Repairs may only be carried out by EATON / Cooper Crouse-HindsGmbH or a qualified electrician (Competent person) in compliancewith the applicable national rules (IEC/EN 60079-19).For replacement and repair only original parts from EATON /Cooper Crouse-Hinds GmbH may be used.Modifications to the apparatus or changes of its design are not permitted,except for the mounting of additional cable entries and the installation ofsupply terminals in accordance with the approval of the apparatus.9 Disposal/RecyclingWhen the apparatus is disposed of, the respective national regulations onwaste disposal will have to be observed.In case of disposal you can obtain additional information from your EATON/ Cooper Crouse-Hinds GmbH branch.Subject to modifications or supplement of the product range.10 Accessories / Spare partsFor accessories and spare parts, see EATON / Cooper Crouse-HindsGmbH catalogue.6.2 Cable EntryThe minimum distance of the drillings is to be kept in accordance with thetable, drilling space for cable glands and stopping plugs.Please contact EATON / Cooper Crouse-Hinds GmbHAll cable entry devices and blanking elements must be certifiedfor protection types ‘e’ and ‘tb’ and must have a minimum IP 66rating.All unused device openings must be fitted with a certified close-upplug of protection types ‘e’ and ‘tb’ and must have a minimum IP 66ratingThe suitability of all entries should be considered in the end useapplication.For entries with parallel threads, cable glands, stop plugs mustbe should be used along with additional seal or gasket.6.3 Closing the deviceAny foreign matter shall be removed from the apparatus.Align the cover with the base.Screw in the enclosure screws and tighten them diagonally(test torque see technical data).6.4 Taking into operationPrior to taking the apparatus into operation, the tests specified in therelevant national regulations will have to be carried out.Apart from that, the correct functioning and installation of the enclosure /equipment in accordance with these operating instructions and otherapplicable regulations will have to be checked.Electric plants must be examined by a qualified specialist before firstcommissioning and regularly at specific intervals.Incorrect installation and use can invalidate the guarantee.7 Maintenance / ServicingThe relevant national regulations which apply to the maintenance/repair of electrical apparatus in explosive atmospheres, will have tobe observed (IEC/EN 60079-17).Before opening the enclosure make sure that the equipment isdisconnected from the voltage, or take the appropriate protectivemeasures.In case of intrinsically safe circuits, working is permitted while voltageapplies.The required maintenance intervals depend on the specific application andwill therefore have to be determined by the user dependent on theconditions of use.When servicing the apparatus, particularly those parts that are decisive forthe type of protection against explosion, will have to be checked (e.g.intactness and tightness of the enclosure, efficacy of the gaskets and thecable entries).If during servicing, repairs prove to be necessary, section 8 of theseoperating instructions will have to be observed.
