8INM F892 Rev 1ALARMALARMDIF8xx-Cx#1F8xx-Cx#2Figure 6 - “Daisy chaining” alarm contactsIf multiple F892 units are used, a common alarm circuit can be achieved by ‘daisy-chaining’ the alarm circuits (see Figure 6).5 4 Host ConnectionsFor units with date code 0712 and later, there are sixteen Host segment connectors –two rows of eight. Earlier versions only provided one row of eight connectors and thusdo not support Redundant Host connection. Use one row for Simplex Host connection, and both rows (where available) for Redundant Host connection.Host manufacturers support Redundant Host connections differently. For example forthe Emerson DeltaV system, the Termblock connects the two Host ports together, soonly one connection should be made from the Termblock to the F892 carrier. Othersystems such as the ABB 800xA or the Rosemount 3420 use the power supply carrierto make the interconnection between the two redundant H1 ports and thereforerequire two separate spur connections to the two host cards. Each connector provides (+), (–) and cable screen (S) connections. See section 5.6 forinformation on cable screen grounding.Pin No Connection Pin No Connection11,35 Segment 1 + 23,47 Segment 5 +12,36 Segment 1 S 24,48 Segment 5 S13,37 Segment 1 - 25,49 Segment 5 -14,38 Segment 2 + 26,50 Segment 6 +15,39 Segment 2 S 27,51 Segment 6 S16,40 Segment 2 - 28,52 Segment 6 -17,41 Segment 3 + 29,53 Segment 7 +18,42 Segment 3 S 30,54 Segment 7 S19,43 Segment 3 - 31,55 Segment 7 -20,44 Segment 4 + 32,56 Segment 8 +21,45 Segment 4 S 33,57 Segment 8 S22,46 Segment 4 - 34,58 Segment 8 -The host cable length should not exceed 30 meters.
